The Locals grew up watching the “Year Without A Santa Claus” claymation special, featuring the Heat Miser & Snow Miser. The 3 of us love this special so much, that we got together last Christmas, ate and drank until we were sick, then laid around watching Year Without A Santa Claus as a band. The last few years we have been covering the Heat Miser song at our Christmas shows as a throw back to our youth. Yesterday we decided to go in and record the song with Mike Hagler of Kingsize studios, ’cause we just cant get enough Heat Miser!!
Below is a picture of Yvonne & Christy dressed as the Snow Miser / Heat Miser from Halloween about 6 years ago. Trust me, the obsession with these Misers is deep and it’s real!

Pics from the first weekend of shooting for our new video
On location in the far reaches of Chicago for the first weekend of shooting for the our new video “Everything must go”. There are tons of pics on Facebook, have a ganders »

"You look like you are ready for the deep fryer"
In one scene, we were chucking flour at each other(simulating chalk and salt -ie our ep name) Christy definitely got the worst of it being in the middle. The director asked us to try and “be more graceful and maybe a little bit less violent” Good tip, good tip |

" The Extremity!! "
Turns out you can take the boy out of the east coast, but you cant take the east coast out of the boy. Kirk (Connecticut boy) got his Jersey Shore name this weekend. We’re very proud. |

" If you see my face, let me know, I think I just sweated if off. "
91 degrees. It was seriously steamy out in the mid-day sun for these shots. Our awesome stylist, Morgan Blaul, did a great job! |

" I think I just walked through bones "
We were shooting in some pretty dodgy areas of Chicago. And came across..um..remains..no kidding. |

LA Podcast, “The Great Unknowns” is featuring The Locals this week! Drop by their site and give them some love (also make sure and check out the podcast!)
“Offering their fifth installment with their latest EP in 10 years, The Locals has been rocking the Chicago music scene by performing their raw alternative rock sound and giving rockers a touch of a retro 1990’s style.
This trio delivers an exceptional sound created by Lead-singer and Guitarist, Yvonne Doll, Bassist, Christy Nunes, and Kirk Snedeker on drums. With captivating retro melodies with rhythmic guitars, crashing drums with a modern spin, combined with Yvonne’s powerful and smokey voice, this compelling combination gives this band a sense of uniqueness. Reminiscing with a sound similar to the 90’s rock with artists like The Divinyls, Garbage, or even No Doubt, The Locals are poised with a quality that is definitely their own…”
